Chapter  23

JOB’S PRINCESS

An excerpt from the key chapter of LOVE'S MUSES: Running From Love, the first book in the series and  the theme of Katie Lynn Moore's life and her purpose here on earth.

When I wrote these books, eight years ago, it was because there was a movie that played in my head, and I typed what I heard and saw.  I had no idea that GOD was trying to get a message to me, by holding up a mirror in each of these books.  Katie Lynn Moore is a fictional person who in theory is most definitely a non-fictional entity, the spokesperson for all those who know what a stomped on, crushed, and hemorrhaging heart feels like.  To my fellow bruised reeds, I ask,  are you a Job's Princess or Prince too?

(If you are like me and you prefer to listen to books, you can listen to this chapter here for free: LOVE'S MUSES Book 1 Running From Love Chapter 23 Job's Princess )

She put her hands on the table, tapping her fingers together. He studied her face and the tension that was forming, again.
“Umm, Prince Charming you gotta stop being so wonderful, I can’t take it anymore. If you don’t stop, I’ll never be able to go back to Scotty and help him.” He grinned and nodded.
“That’s the idea, " he mumbled, not wanting her to hear, but having whispered too loud.  She pushed him away from her, put her hands on her hips and gave him the eye of disapproval. “I’m just kidding. I know you won’t be happy until you know he will be okay.  Hey, Princess Cindy?”
“What?”
“Who is that Prince Charming, anyway?” He asked looking for her definition of the irresistible man who could win her heart for good. .  She sat back and folded her arms across her middle and squeezed tight with her hands. A snicker of mistrust and sarcasm seemed to take over and mask what love was doing to her hardened heart.  He noted a bit of hardening returning.
“That’s easy.” Nick raised his head and looked in her eyes. “He’s the guy that comes into Cinderella’s life. He takes her away from her hum-drum life, as the unwanted family member, abused, neglected, and lonely. He does it with such style and charm. He says all the right things. He knows exactly what Cinderella needs to hear, and PC actually means it, at the time. Then another fair maiden comes along. She’s younger and prettier than Cinderella. Cindy’s gained a couple of pounds, and that shiver that she used to stir in him is no longer there. The new kid in town has lots in common with the Prince and most definitely not a commoner like Cindy. Nope, this one is fellow royalty. They travel in the same circles. They have common friends. She, like the prince, needs to be worshiped and adored, whereas Cindy was just a mere boring servant that the Prince found attractive at the time, because the pressure of being the King’s kid got to him. At that time when he met poor Cindy, he longed for the simplicity of Cindy’s life and wanted to experiment with it. It was fine for that time, but he missed the excitement of the royal balls, and he got restless. The new princess was new territory to conquer and a new challenge. The chase was on, and his manhood was intact.”
She told that story in such a matter of fact manner. She was convinced that all men were like that, and in particular, Nick as the celebrity who would eventually dump her. He dropped his shoulders, lowered his head and shook it. There was a combination sadness and anger that called to her to take that back.
“Wow, you really don’t think much of me, do you?”
“What, that was my attempt at humor. It wasn’t funny?”
“No, not at all.” The look of annoyance on Nick’s face was of hurt from a deep personal attack, after all he had done to be sweet to her. He faced forward watching his hands as he vigorously rubbed them. She looked at his hands and his sad face. She scooted over to his side of the table and got close to him. She pulled at his hands to hold them and he resisted. She then put her palm on the opposite cheek and turned his face toward her. He kept his eyes down. She insulted him, and she needed to clarify herself. She rose up on her knees, brought her lips to his cheek and tenderly and lovingly kissed it.
“Look at me, Nicolas Paul.” Nick’s eyes remained low. She then started tenderly caressing his face, and in a lowered, more sensual intonation, she repeated herself. “Nicolas Paul Thomas, look at me, please.” He brought his eyes up to hers. She passed a long an encouraging smile. “First of all, don’t take it personal, because ninety-nine percent of the men in my life fit that bill, you can’t help it. It’s your species.”
“Teach, do you think that way of all men, not just me, or other celebrity men?”
“All men, because that’s all I’ve ever seen in my entire life.” He put his enormous hand on her right cheek and caressed it like she did his.
“Sweetness, that is the saddest thing I’ve ever heard.” Katie gasped with the touch of his hand on her face. He smiled at the obvious shiver.
“Tell me about it. It ain’t no picnic on this side of the fence, either.” She put her left hand on top of his hand still on her cheek. She lowered her body back down and a little bit away from Nick.
“What about Matthew?” He asked.  She smiled a warm smile and sighed for the love and respect she had for him.
“Ah, my precious Matthew, my adopted brother. He is the virgin on the college campus. He is the rosebush in the field of weeds and the first man and only one so far with whom I see true virtue. Are you like that, Nicolas Paul? Are you a rose bush in a field of weeds? I’m thirty-four years old, and I’ve known only one.”
“I am, Teach.”
“Okay good, then, why don’t you take it down a few notches and not come on so strong, trying to impress me? I see a real treasure of a man in there, but when you’re over complimenting that’s you playing me.” Nick shook his head.
“I’ve not been playing you, at all. I’ve meant every word I’ve said.” She blushed a bit and lowered her head. “I’ve meant every single word, straight from here.” He took her hand, and placed it palm down on his heart, and covered her hand with his. Can’t you feel my heart beating like it’s going to come out of my chest any minute now? You do that to me. I’m more nervous around you than any woman I’ve ever been with. You scare me, probably as much as I scare you.”
Katie leaned into him, putting her ear against his chest to listen to his heart and let it speak to her. He covered her with his arms, for a minute or so. She pulled away and got back up on her knees.
“My humungous hunk of hope, I see a wonderful man in there. A grandfather’s treasure. You have such high hopes and dreams. You are young and living large. Everything is a fairy tale to you, nothing has come along and knocked you on your ass. You act as though nothing will, maybe for you that is so, but it’s not like that for all people. This isn’t a storybook. It’s real life, with real people. I really think that there’s a real man in there who is humble, kind and sweet, but there’s also a stage performer in there, and he thinks he’s in a play all day and night long. Not every body’s life is a fairy tale. Some of us don’t have that kind of life, nor will we ever. You need to come down to earth. Stop being such a charmer, and get real. Life isn’t fair to all, some just get screwed all the time and not the good kind.”
He put his hand under her chin, he then grabbed her shoulders holding her firmly in front of him and gave it right back to her from his perspective.
“Well, beautiful teacher, have you forgotten how I grew up? Have you forgotten what I saw my father do to my mother? You are not the only victim of bad things. You need to stop being such a fatalistic victim and dare to dream. Not every good thing has something bad following it. Not every dream will end in a nightmare. How is it you can give encouragement and hope to others, yet you have none for yourself? How is it that you can dole out so much love to others, but you can’t receive any? How is it that you can make any person with you, feel wonderful and fantastic inside as well as desired, or like royalty, but when you look in the mirror of your own soul, you only see a plain, peasant servant girl, covered in ash with no chance or hope of ever having a fairy tale life?. How come you can reach in and find the beauty in others, but you can’t find any in yourself, nor believe anyone who tells you such?”
Katie left his seat and sat down on her side. She folded her hands together, looked Nick straight in the eye and told him the truth of her life as far as she saw it.
“Simply put, it’s the story of my life. I’m bad luck, or bad Karma, or a jinx. You know the Midas touch, well I have Murphy’s touch. All things bad and tragic just keep happening to me. Tonight is great, but it won’t last. We are too different. I don’t know if I could live in a glass bubble like you do.  I can’t live with eyes on me all the time. I’m not center stage. I don’t’ think I could cope with people always watching me, or taking pictures. You aren’t going to want a shy princess forever. Maybe it’s cute and different now, but you’ll tire of it. You’ll want someone so much more exciting eventually, not a boring kindergarten teacher, but one of your own kind. Someone will come along and love the idea of walking along the red carpet with you and want to grace your arm there, whereas, I could never do that. You’ll see. She’ll be so much better for you, and then you’ll have to break this teacher’s heart. You won’t have any choice, because you’ll fall in love with the new princess, the one with a prettier royal robe.”
“My sweet teacher, don’t you think that you could ever trust me?”
“It’s not you, I can’t trust.  It is God, I don’t trust. God must have it in for me. He must not think I deserve anything good, permanently. That’s what I don’t understand. I’ve strived to be good, to beat my family at their own game, yet I keep getting the shit kicked out of me.”
Discouragement and mistrust of God now replaced any mistrust of Nick. He reached out to grab her hands, and she pulled them away from him, sitting back and crossing her arms across her chest as if to protect her heart.
“God can be trusted, especially by us on the boat.”
“I’d love to get on your Christian Cruise Line to Paradise, but as soon as I stepped on the gangway, the daggone ship would sink, just because I was on it.  God is not going to let me keep you. You are too good to be true.”  He rose from his side and went over to hers. She scooted back against the wall.
“Do you want to know why I think you’ve suffered so?” She nodded. “Come back in my arms. Let me comfort you with what I believe is the truth.” She shook her head, and he pulled on her arms. “Just like you made me buy you that second Long Island Ice Tea, I have conditions too,” he said with a warm loving smile.   “You come into my arms, and I’ll explain what I know.” She bowed her head and gave him that warm blushing inviting smile. A second tug, lowered her resistance and the third time was the charm. She popped away from the wall and fell passionately into his arms, whimpering. “There, now isn’t that better?”
“Cover me,” she said with a whimper, then she moaned, loving him holding her. Nick folded himself around her. He sucked in a deep breath and then sighed out his love all over the back of her neck.
“Oh, you feel so good here. I love hearing you say that to me and having you in my arms. It is as if you’ve always been here, and you’ve been missing out of my life, but I didn’t know it was you who was missing.” He breathed love into her ears with his words of comfort. She nodded, agreeing with him.

“Okay, now explain away, and this better be good,” she said as she turned her head to look up at him.
“It is, sweetness, it is. First of all, I refuse to believe that your life is destined to sadness, mourning and hopelessness. That’s not the all-loving God I know.”
“Well, I don’t know Him, I don’t get Him, and most times, I’m not sure if I want to. He has it in for me.”
“Sweetness, I don’t believe one word of that. God doesn’t have it in for you.”
“Well, that’s fine for you, but it doesn’t matter what you believe. You’ve not suffered like I have and at the hand of God. You had your Gramps and Gran to make up for your Dad. He gave you them. Matthew says God is involved in every aspect of our lives, like a well written play, and we are the actors. He says that God knows the beginning from the end, that God sees our future.”
“Yes, I do believe in God’s sovereignty. I don’t believe in coincidences. Like my Gran calls them, they are God-instances. Your being here, my being here this day. This was all planned by God.” Katie bounced up out of his arms. She turned toward him with skepticism.
“Okay, let’s go with that theory. Some of the best plays, the classics end in sadness or tragedy. Maybe that’s just the play God has planned for me. Like I said, all good literature seems to end in tragedy, and that’s the story of my life, too. Do you think God planned for us to meet tonight?”
“Yes, I do.”
“Okay, then why did he have us meet tonight, when we can’t be together? I’m not free, yet. His timing is almost as bad as mine, for Pete’s sake. Why couldn’t we have met years earlier, or later, after Scotty is better?”
“Come back over  here,” he pleaded. She shook her head. Nick let out a sad sigh. He reached for her and she got up on her knees in defense, pushing herself further against the wall. He began to speak. She put her finger up to his lips.
“Stop, let me finish. Now, if God has planned my life like you and Matthew said, and he knows everything, then, he planned for me to meet Matthew, two years after meeting his twin, whom I had fallen in love with. He knew I was going to fall in love with the bad twin. He knew about Kimmie and Pete Simpson coming along. He knew about Michael and the drugs and the heroin. He knew about Laurie, getting involved with Brandon.  He knew my baby would die in my womb, and it would send Michael over the edge, shattering my world.  Even before that, He put me in the family from hell, and he watched me cry as a little girl, unloved, being blamed for every bad thing that happened in that family. Now, you tell me, what kind of loving God would plan all of that?”
Nick completely understood her point of view and felt such compassion on her. He needed to find a way to reach her heart to trust God.
“Teach, I understand why you think all of that, based on God’s sovereignty, like Matthew has told you. But God didn’t plan all those things, He allowed them.”
“What’s the difference?”
“There’s a big difference. He allows it, sometimes for reasons unknown, but most times, evil turns into good, depending on the person.”
“Oh, so He randomly picks people that He lets have the shit kicked out of them, so that those with the fairy tale life can be grateful about all the good they get and not complain if everything is not exactly the way they want it.  Yes, I see that makes sense now, for people like you, but it sure isn’t fair to us poor saps who get, if you’ll pardon the expression, the shit end of the stick.” Nick shook his head.
“No, it’s not like that.  I think I can explain something that may make sense.”
“Explain away, then.”  She sat back with her arms crossed and angry and in disbelief.
“Come back in these arms.”
“No, keep your fairy tale life on your own side of the table, now go on over there, she said in her weeping voice.”
“No way.” Nick used his strength over hers to let his love conquer her anger and hurt. He picked her up by her waist, turned her around and smothered her with his arms and his love. He breathed into her neck his love and version of the truth. “Princess, God does not rejoice in evil and suffering, but there is one who does, and he’s hell bent on destroying everything that God loves. God loves you so much, and the devil hates you. He wants to destroy you. Free will is a gift from God. That way we can freely love Him and choose to do good. Humans are not innately good, though, there is an evil that lives inside us and many people give in to the strong pull of that selfish evil. They end up hurting those they think that they love, when they really love themselves more than the ones they profess to love. Then there are the ones who don’t love at all, and evil is their companion. Michael was an ass as far as I’m concerned.  God gave you to him as a gift, and he threw you away. He got what he deserved. Your family was just plain evil, simple as that. Now, Michael and Matthew grew up in a loving Christian home, right, and they lost their brother when they were children, didn’t they?” Katie nodded.
“The family heralder?” She asked, turning and looking up at him.
“No, Matthew told me.” She turned back around and faced the wall.
“Ah, well, yes, Markus got in with the wrong kids in school, and he died in a motorcycle accident when he snuck out one night.”
“Oh, so his choice was a bad choice then, right?”
“Yes, and it was something that always pained Michael, haunted by it.”
“Oh, and Matthew is not pained by it?”
“Of course he is.”
“Well, then why did Matthew turn out to be the rose bush and Michael the weed? It was because Michael made the choice to live a selfish life, doing drugs and groupies. Matthew chose the better. Just like their father said, Michael was weak and selfish, apparently. He loved himself more than you. So, Markus’s actions started a chain reaction, which effected Michael and Matthew, but Michael’s bad choices continued the chain reaction. From what I understand, Laurie retreated and was always angry, blaming you for everything, after her father died.”
“The family heralder, right?” She turned her head to ask, and he nodded.
“Yes, I learned that from her. So Michael’s actions devastated you and Laurie. She made bad choices, also. She didn’t have to turn angry and mean at her father’s tragic death. Like I said, we battle good and evil every day. The only good that is in us, is put there by God. He puts his laws and love in our hearts, and it is our choice whether or not to do the more difficult things, like obeying His laws. It is our choice whether to sacrifice our own wants for someone else’s benefit, like you said about your deputy. God didn’t necessarily choose this time for us, because it was the wrong time, and He’s just out to get you. We could be together, but you are choosing to help your deputy instead, because of your love for him. You are putting him firsts, over your wants. Although, I don’t like that choice, for me. In the long run, it’s better for Scotty and for you, because I know that you’ll be happier later, if you know he’s okay. That’s sacrificial love, princess, and again, just one of the hundreds of reasons that I admire you.  Now, regardless of the bad things that have happened to you, instead of being bitter, which many people would be, you’ve taken in God’s laws and his love in your heart, and you share it generously. You feel for other people, instead of just soothing your own wounded soul. Michael grew up in a loving Christian home, you grew up rejected. Who turned out good? You did, because you chose the right path, you chose sacrificial love. Was your Michael a devoted believer?”
“Well, he believed, but he wasn’t as obsessed about it as Matthew is. He did take Laurie to church, some of the time, but mostly she went with her grandparents. Every once in a while, he’d get on this kick and he’d take Laurie himself for a spell.”
“Why?”
“Because, he wanted Laurie to know that Jesus loved her.”
“Why didn’t he take you?” She shrugged her shoulders.
“I don’t know. I guess, he just respected my beliefs and didn’t want to shove it down my throat.”
“Oh, so he wanted Laurie to know that Jesus loved her, but he didn’t care if you knew that Jesus loved you.”  Katie shrugged her shoulders, again, this time in concession.
“Well, I mean, he believed it, because it was all he knew, and there were times when he was into it, and he took Laurie with him, but there were other times when, well, he didn’t want to be known as a Bible thumper. Mostly though, that was when he was in the band.”
“Like a chameleon, then.” Katie pulled away and turned her head to look up at Nick. “He was embarrassed?” Nick asked. She tilted her head back and forth.
“Well, maybe I guess. He never really talked about it with me.”
“Now, what about Matthew?”
“Oh, well, he’s been pushing me since I first met him. He shoves it down my throat all the time.”
“Why do you suppose?”
“Because it’s important to him.”
“So, Matthew wants you to know that Jesus loves you, but your own husband didn’t think it was necessary?” She turned back around.
“I guess yeah, I never thought about it that way, but yeah, it seems like that now.”
“The more you speak of Michael, the less I like that man. Apparently, Michael was more concerned with what people thought of him and not what God thought of him. I guess he didn’t have the right love’s muses, now did he?” Nick said with angry sarcasm. Katie shook her head. “He didn’t share the faith. It was okay for him to know about it and keep his fire insurance, but he didn’t care if others knew, right?” Katie nodded. “So when tragedy hit, instead of being a man of God and leaning on Him and helping you, he selfishly chose to mask his pain by getting high.” Katie popped out of his arms, she put herself against the wall, in her final offensive attack against his theory.
“Okay, okay, I get that. Markus chose wrong, Laurie chose wrong, and Michael chose wrong, even Scotty chose wrong, and now he’s suffering for it. So, let me ask you this, even if I’ve chosen wrong and had to suffer for it, what evil did my Baby Markus choose that he didn’t even get to take his first breath?” She sat up, stiffened her back and slammed her fist down on the table. With both hands clenched in a fist, she posed the question, again. “Huh, answer me that. What did my baby do so wrong that God never let him see the light of day, nor feel his mother’s love, huh? Because I had a lot of love to give him. I was going to do it right, and God robbed me of that?  Now, you tell me why, why, why?” She repeatedly asked in her crying voice. She dropped her head and her body shook from the sobbing. She realized that she had begun to let her anger draw too much attention over toward them, and she cowered down, sobbing silently.
Her fists banging on the table, caught Toni’s attention and she leaned an ear in toward their booth and heard of Katie’s anguish. Nick looked up and made eye contact with Toni, who had tears in her eyes. While Katie’s head was down, she made motion with her hands for Nick to move over and take her in his arms. She then quietly brought over a wad of napkins and ducked out of sight, while Katie wept, with her face buried in her hands. Nick looked up and nodded in appreciation. Toni mouthed the words, ‘Hold her,’ but Nick shrugged his shoulders and mouthed back,
‘She won’t let me.’ Toni tilted her head toward Katie, anyway, and Nick gave her a quick nod. He agreed and pushed his way over, pulling her into his arms, whether or not she wanted to be there. He shielded her weeping behind his large frame, and Katie eventually melded into his love, protection and comfort, while she wept into his chest.
He spoke in his low, soft and comforting tone into her neck.
“Sweetness, I can’t answer all those kinds of questions. No one can. There are so many things that man cannot understand of God, because as my Gramps always told me, God’s ways are not our ways, and his thoughts are not our thoughts. They are so much higher than ours, and there’s times when we just don’t understand. Then there are times when the answers come later. Maybe God, because He was all knowing, knew that your baby Markus was going to make bad choices, so to keep his soul with Him, He took him as an innocent baby. Princess, there’s just times when we just don’t know, but it doesn’t change the truth of God’s love for us. I wish I had an answer for you that would make sense.” Katie rose up out of his arms, and Nick handed her the napkins. She wiped her face and blew her nose.
“Well, what you said, could make some sense, I guess. I could think of it that way, huh, instead of being robbed, then?”
“That’s right, and know that you’ll be with your Baby Markus, again, when nothing will be able to separate you for all eternity.” Katie nodded in consolation. “Listen, I have a story I’d like to tell you. Will you listen to it? Maybe it will make sense to you, because, beautiful teacher with the even more beautiful heart, it’s the only thing that I can think that makes any kind of sense why you’ve suffered so. Can I tell you it?” She nodded. “Good, come back here, though.” He opened his arms, and she fell into them, burying herself into his chest as he covered her with his love.
“Okay, so now speak, and this better be good, PC,” she said with skepticism.
“Well, sweetness, the only reason why I can think that you’ve suffered all this sadness, is that God trusted you with it.” Katie picked up her head and looked up into his soft loving eyes. “My Princess Cindy, you are God’s Job’s Princess.”
“Huh? Who the heck is Job, and why does he have a princess?”  Nick pulled her face back into his chest and let his heart speak to her.
“My funny princess, I hate all the evil done to you. God does too. He cries when you cry. He counts every tear that drops from your heart. He hurts when you hurt, but let me tell you this one thing I know for sure. God loves you big and I mean really big. He believes in you. He trusts you.”
“How do you know that?”
“Because, God picked you to be one of his special Job’s Princesses. Listen, and I’ll explain.  This artist is going to tell the teacher a story.” He coughed out a little loving laugh.
“Is it a true story?”
“It most certainly is. There was this man. He was a good man. He did everything right. He was generous, kind, and God was proud of him, because he was good-hearted and followed God out of the love in his heart. Then one day the devil came before God, and God said to the devil, ‘Look at my servant, Job, he is blameless and good.”
“So, God was bragging on his servant?”
“Yes, God was so happy with his servant that He was bragging on him. Then the devil said to God, ‘Of course he’s good, you give him everything he wants. Take away is possessions and his wealth, and he’ll curse you.’ Do you know this story?”
“Some, but not much. This is in the Bible right?”
“Yes, it is. Everything in the Bible is true. It is God’s love letter to us, says my Gramps.” Katie popped her head up, twisted it and looked up to Nick.
“Matthew says that all the time.”
“It’s true. So, God told the devil, that ‘This man loves Me so much that even if I let you take away all his earthly goods, he still won’t curse Me. I know and trust this man, that much.’ God gave the devil permission to spread disease among all his livestock, plus other armies took the rest. He lost it all. Then the devil took all his children, all of them died. Ten adult children gone. Job mourned and wailed, and cursed the day he was born. He did not curse God. His wife came out and tried to make him curse God, but Job did not. He cursed his mother for giving him life, but not God, who had allowed the devil to do that to try to destroy Job. He never understood why this had happened and felt cursed by God for being human and sinful. When Job did not curse God, He bragged on Job all the more. Then the devil asked God permission to strike Job with disease, predicting that he would curse God. Do you know what God did?”
“What?”
“God said, ‘No he won’t curse me. He loves me. He will always love me. So, go ahead do what you want, but spare his life. I trust in my Job.”
“Something about boils I think.”
“Yes, my sweet princess. So he let the devil wreak havoc, again, with physical suffering, and Job did not curse God. Then a bunch of his idiot friends came and told Job that he had sinned so bad that he made God angry and that he was being punished by God. Job knew he was a good-hearted man. He knew he did all he could to be good, as good as a flawed human can be. No one can be perfect, but Job had a pure heart; one like yours.”
“And Job did not curse God?”
“Nope, he complained a lot, and he had a right to.  GOD understood all his pain.  His friends just kept making him feel even worse, eventually, God reprimanded the alleged friends, but Job still loved God, because he knew what God could do. Everyone around Job could not understand why such a good man would have such bad happen to him. He did not deserve it. Job knew that God could turn everything around in an instant. God then spoke to Job and told him who He was. Job knew God even better. God trusted Job in all of that to do the right thing.”
“Did God brag on him some more?”
“Not only was God proud of Job, He blessed him by giving him double of all that he lost for staying true.”
“Double everything?” She asked.
“Yes, double, and now Job is in the Bible for billions to read, for encouragement. Do you want to know what I think happened in Heaven when God planned your life?”
“What?”
“I think that in the Heavenly realms, the devil may have come up to God and said, ‘I want to strike Katherine Lynn and give her nothing but heartache, and she will hate you. She won’t follow you, or trust you, or want to do anything for you.’  God must have said, ‘I know my Katherine Lynn, and she’ll not curse me. She will love people, so pure. I will put my love in her. She’ll endure all of it. She will come out even more loving. People will look at her in awe, wondering how she could be so good and kind and caring. Then I will reward her. I will give her a man who will love her the way she should be loved. I will bless her with people who will love her double and triple. The whole world will love my Katherine. So He picked Valentine's day to bring you into the world, because your life theme would be that special Agape love, Matthew keeps saying.  GOD said to the devil, she’ll be the Valentine that the whole world loves.” She picked up her head and smiled and received back that same loving smile from Nick, who was so proud to have her in his arms. She buried her face back in to his chest.
“So you think God sent me Matthew’s family, because my family did not love me, and he’s loved me crazy, the same with Scotty?”
“Yes, I believe that. He sent me to you, also. Your deputy has sworn to take care of you for the rest of his life, right?”
“Yes, and he means it.”
“I believe he does, but he won’t get that opportunity, because God sent me to you. I’m going to take your deputy’s job away from him. I’m going to make you deliriously happy. I am going to give you that fairy tale life. I am coming back into your life. I don’t know when, or how, but I know I am.” Katie popped up out of Nick’s arms. She turned to face him.
“Nicolas Paul, so do you think that God is proud of me?” Nick took her face into his hands. He grasped her hands and lovingly kissed them.
“I’d bet my entire music career that God is so proud of you, that you make Him cry every day with tears of immeasurable joy.” Katie laughed and turned and nestled back into his arms, covered in his love.
“Matthew says that, tears of immeasurable joy. Huh, funny you use some of the same words he does.”
“That’s because they have the same source.”
“God?” She asked, facing him. He gave her his warm loving grin and nodded.
“Yes, absolutely. God puts wise words in our mouth, just at the right time.”
“Just like he has for you, right now, about why my baby died. Maybe it’s true. Maybe God just kept my baby from making bad choices?”
“Maybe God wanted to spare your baby from the heartaches of this life, which would have pushed him over the edge, I mean look who his father was.” Katie popped out of his arms. He shrugged his shoulders and felt a little guilty for saying that. “Sorry, maybe that was uncalled for.” Katie coughed out a sad chuckle.
“Like father like son, then?” she asked. “I guess that could make sense. So, you think baby Markus is up there with Michael and Laurie?” Nick shrugged his shoulders. I don’t know about your Michael or Laurie, but I can assure you, that your baby is with God.
“Matthew says, that the Bible says believe on the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved. He said that, even though he wasn’t devoted, he knew his status as a sinner and that he believed on Jesus, so he believes that Michael is up there with Laurie and Baby Markus and his brother and his Pops.”
“Well, I surely hope so.”
“Matthew says that Michael is getting our mansion ready up there, cuz Jesus says something about a mansion in heaven for us.” Nick laughed.
“Matthew surely has taught you a lot, hasn’t he?
“Yeah, I don’t know where all that stuff is in the Bible, but Matthew hasn’t been wrong yet, so if Matthew says it’s in there, it must be.” Nick nodded.
“It is, and maybe your Michael is up there getting a mansion ready, but down here, my sweet Princess Cindy, I’m going to build you a castle, and I know just the place I’m going to build it.” He smiled, thinking about the Forgiveness Field, his and his Gramps’ favorite place in all the world.
“Okay, I’ll take it. A castle down here and a mansion up there. Wait, what am I going to do when we are all up there? Oh, now that could be a problem.” Nick laughed and took her back in his arms.
“Nah, because in the Bible, it says that we’ll all be one big happy family, an maybe by then, I’ll like your Michael, but right now, I don’t, nor your Scotty.” She popped her head out from where it rested snugly in his chest. “Sorry, I’m still human.” They both laughed, and their bodies shook together. “Princess, I know one reason we can’t be together now.”
“And what’s that?”
“Because, I’m not worthy of you, yet. Unfortunately, you’ve shown me that I’ve been kinda like your Michael, a fence rider, and I’m going to change that, for you.”
“Don’t do it for me, Nicolas Paul. Do it for you, for God.” He nodded and agreed.
“Sweet teacher, you are such a wonderful inspiration. You love people and you bless them. They are your muse to continue doing all the good you do. You reminded me of my promise to God. You gave me the proper muses for my craft, again. You taught me so much, and I’m not a six-year old. Sweetness, you can teach more than just six year-olds. You little metaphor mama, with your great stories, immeasurable love and vivid details. Teacher, teach in the pages of a book. Let the whole world see what amazing love that lives in that heart. Don’t limit God’s love to just those lucky six year-olds.”
“I have always wanted to write. I just had nothing to say.”
“Princess, you have lots to say. Spread that Agape love through the pages of a book. My shy princess, you can hide behind the pages of a book. Other people who are suffering need to hear your story, so that they can know that they can triumph with God’s help.”
“You know, Nicolas Paul, that makes sense, then none of the bad stuff will be wasted, or in vain.  Maybe I can help others when they are suffering.”  She spun out of his arm with that amazing revelation and new purpose for her life. Her face beamed with gratitude and possibilities for her future. She nodded and Nick saw the wheels spinning in her head as if she had just planned her future as an inspirational writer, helping all kinds of people. “Wow! That’s so cool, I mean, I can really help people, can’t I?”
Nick nodded with such pride knowing her life just became extremely valuable in the Kingdom, and this wonderful lady of love was right there in his arms, He was going to make sure that he was worthy to be her man when the time came.
“Princess, with all that you have been through, you’ve triumphed because you love so deep. Most people would become bitter, it’s made you better. You will be a shining example of God’s love and grace.”
“But, I’m not good like Matthew, as a matter of fact, looking at Matthew is like looking at failure waiting to happen. I don’t know if you know this, Nicolas Paul, but I’m a screw-up. I always mess things up and get into trouble.”  Nick thought about her and the Long Island Ice Tea’s and her refusing to heed to Matthew’s warning. He laughed.
“Maybe the world needs a screw-up to look up to, and you my short little olive-toned Italian with the continental-sized heart, fit the bill. You see, you may think you are a screw-up, but I feel like I can’t measure up to you.”
“That’s not true, Nicolas Paul. You’re wonderful.”
“Ah, but I’ve done so many things wrong in my life. I forgot my promise to God. I worked my craft as a self-serving artist, remember? God doesn’t count our screw-ups, he measures our hearts of love. God wants your heart, not your perfection, because, princess, he knows you ain’t perfect, nor will you ever be. Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and you will make Him so happy, that’s all He wants. That is what Jesus said was the greatest commandment.”
“So, all I have to do is love God, and He’ll show me what to do, like with Pete Simpson?”
“Yes, when we love God, he points us to Jesus and what Jesus has done for us. Then when we accept his gift of Grace, we get God’s Holy Spirit, to teach and guide us. It’s a package deal.”
“Kinda like me and my deputy? When you get me, you are getting my deputy too? He’s family, I told you.”
“Teach, I don’t want your deputy, but if that is the only way I can have you, and he’s your family, then I guess he’ll have to be my family too. Now, if that deputy has to tag along with you, we are going to have to set some ground rules. He cannot have a room in the castle, he’ll have to live a few castles down the road, and you’ll have to keep him at arm’s length. I don’t want him taking me out with his strong arm of the law, accusing me of violating you, when he wishes it could be him do that— Oh, shit, that sounded bad too.” Katie broke down and couldn’t stop laughing at his faux pas. “Do you see what I mean about you making me tongue-tied and nervous?”
“Yep, however, I don’t think it’s me you’re nervous about, but my deputy when he finds out about you. Knowing those girls, it will be soon, and it won’t go over well, at all.”
“Well, just like he’s going to need time to adjust to the idea of me, I’ll probably need the same amount of time to adjust to the idea of him, being a Klingon, in our royal family.”
“Okay, so, I guess if you can accept my deputy as your future family, via me, I should probably jump on board God’s family on that Christian Cruise Line to Paradise, via Jesus, huh?”
“Sounds like a good plan to me, princess. Welcome aboard, we’re glad to have you.”
“PC, how come you were able to put it all together for me, yet in all these years, Matthew never told me any of that Job’s Princess stuff.”
“I don’t know. Sometimes, we just have to be in the right place in the right time, both physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Sometimes, just a different perspective on things makes them clearer. All I know is that God loves you, He trusts you, and He has a work for you to do. Maybe it’s in the pages of a book, maybe it’s inspiring me and others in our craft. You are going to do great things. Write that book and inspire the world, because princess, you are the most inspiring and exciting woman I’ve known, since I first started looking at girls when I was twelve.”
“So, who was the girl when you were twelve?”
“I can’t say,” he said.
“Why?”
“You’ll run away, for sure.”
“Oh no, don’t tell me. Your teacher?” He nodded his head with his adorable embarrassed smile. “Oh brother!”

 “Just Because” LOVE

As some of you all know, I’ve been through the wringer all my life. It’s been one trial after another. I’ve had an experience where I got a tiny sip of the pure overwhelming love that comes from GOD in heaven. I’ve tasted that joy that can’t be described in words. I’ve felt every cell in my body light up just in His Presence, the couple of times that it has happened to me. I want it, and I want it, now.

All my life, I’ve been the little girl who nobody loved, or so I saw that in myself. I was the black sheep of the family, the one they always blamed. I was the controversial one, the troublemaker, they said. I grew up in a very secular home where Jesus was surely NOT present, so of all six of us, who did Jesus pick to be the first to experience his encompassing love? Why me, of course. My mother was rougher around the edges than I am, if you can believe that. She did some horrible things because she was not in control of all her faculties. She had a mean streak, and a tongue that could slice leather if she was mad at the leather.

She loved me because I was her daughter, and that’s it. There was nothing about me that she loved, and she made that evident. My father loved me because I was his daughter, and the only one of the six who maintained contact with him all my life. The others have been estranged for over forty years. So, his is a grateful love. My siblings love me, because my mother drilled it into us that friends come and go, but your family is for life. So, theirs is an obligatory love because my mother told them they had to love me. She told them a lot of other things, that were counterintuitive, but she stressed obligatory love for family.

My children love me because I’m their mother and I take care of their needs. My husband only loved what I could do for him during our thirty-year marriage. Whenever I asked him why he loved me, he couldn’t come up with a good reason except, “Because you’re a good woman.” In thirty years, that was the only nice thing my husband ever said to or about me. Most of the time, he drilled it into my head all the reasons why people did NOT like me. There is a love that is so pure that it can only come from One Place.

There was one person however, who loved me just because. It was pure, it was wonderful, and it had no other reason then just because. That was my Nana. That love died when she did sixteen years ago. Hence, I’ve lived without that “just because love” all these years, and let me tell you, life isn’t worth living unless there is someone who loves you “just because.” Yet, in all that, I’ve loved everyone in my life just because. I never understood why, because many were so mean to me, but I could never stop loving them just because. GOD put that love in my heart, I take no credit.

As a cancer survivor, I am always on the lookout for my “ticket Home,” as I call it. I can’t take life loving just because and not having any “just because” love back. Someone asked me if all I needed was "just because" love to fight cancer for a second time, and why just that:

My answer was unequivocally. “Yes, "JUST BECAUSE.”

It’s that Damned Four-Letter F-Word Every Time!

Every bad decision I have ever made was because of that damned four-letter-F word, and I’m not talking about the obvious. Oh, yeah, I use that word, a lot, way too many times. Like Isaiah, I am a woman of unclean lips. One night, while crying, talking to GOD, like I do all the time, GOD asked me a question. He said, “Kristina, why are you crying?” I knew the answer. It was the same answer that I’ve been giving GOD who has asked me this same question every day for about three years, now. It’s the four-letter F-word, the devil’s most useful tool he uses against us.

F -E- A- R

I realized that night, for the first time that nearly every bad decision or stupid impulsive deed I ever make has a foundation in FEAR. He then reminded me of the Biblical heroes, who were total screw-ups, almost every bad decision was grounded in FEAR. The first generation of Israelites, who saw the Mighty Hand of GOD deliver them from Pharaoh, were condemned to forty years of wandering in the wilderness, and not allowed to enter the promise land simply because fear spread like a wildfire in the dry wilderness. Ten out of the twelve spies lit a fire of fear into the mass population. All it took was ten people to spread fear like leprosy among the two-million newly delivered wanderers. Fear, like leprosy contaminates the whole body just by going near it. Fear is the spark in a dry valley of kindling wood. All it takes is one spark, and the entire forest goes up in flames.

When I started to think about my depression and despair battles, GOD showed me that FEAR was the motivating factor. I’m depressed because I think that GOD will never rescue me from this nineteen-year slide down into the valley of Achor. Despair is just fear on steroids. Despair is the fear that life will never get better. Then I started thinking about what other bad decisions we make.

Nearly every sin we commit is baptized in fear. Why don’t we return to GOD when we have strayed? It is the fear that GOD could not forgive us for how far we’ve fallen, the fear of having to admit that we fell that far, and the shame that will accompany that fear. So, to avoid the FEAR and SHAME we choose to live in DENIAL. Do you see a pattern here? It seems that all the devil’s best weapons are grounded in fear and are used effectively to keep us from becoming the masterpieces GOD intends to create in us. The last thing the devil wants is for us to fulfill the destiny GOD has written for us, so he pulls out his most effective tools, PRIDE, SHAME, and DENIAL which all have a foundation of FEAR.

If we really stop to think about it, and I mean, really wrap our brains around the reasons we commit most sins, almost every single thing we do that we know is wrong is founded in some hidden fear. I know that every tear I cry is wet with fear. I keep saying to GOD, “But GOD, if I only knew for sure that You were going to do thus and so, I wouldn’t cry.” He reminds me every time of how many times He has assured me that He will do thus and so, and how many times He has proven it to me. Yet, FEAR is alive and well in my heart., My next question was, “So, why do I fear so much, when will it ever stop?” The answer, I got was NEVER. For as long as there is a devil, there will always be fear. This a battle that we will have to fight every day that we breathe. Until we are safe and secure in our Heavenly dwelling, fear will be our constant unwelcomed companion.

I see myself in David because he is the biggest screw-up with the best heart to whom I can relate. Yes, the brave warrior, David, had a horrible battle with fear. One of the very worst things he did was living as a prodigal for sixteen months with the Philistines, killing innocent men, women, and children for profit, making sure no one survived to rat him out to his Philistine commander, and embezzling off the top, for himself, thus making him a mass murderer and an embezzler. He walked away from the promise, because he feared King Saul would kill him, thus he hid behind enemy lines and participated in their sin against GOD. (1 Samuel 27: Then David said to himself, “Now I will perish one day by the hand of Saul. There is nothing better for me than to safely escape into the land of the Philistines. Then Saul will despair of searching for me anymore in all the territory of Israel, and I will escape from his hand.”)

Thirty years later, trying to cover up his sin with Bathsheba, lest he be accused as an adulterer. His crimes against Uriah, were fraught with fear. Fear of getting caught as an adulterer was the motivating factor behind his elaborate scheme to try and get Uriah to sleep with his wife, to cover her pregnancy, but when Uriah proved more noble than David, the fear of the shame motivated him to have Uriah killed in the battle field.

If He called a screw-up like David, "a man after His own heart," or forgave King Manasseh, who flooded the streets of Jerusalem with innocent blood from one end of the city to the other. (2 Chronicles 33), there is no low that is too low, regardless of what you think or believe.     The devil is very sly, he knows very well how to disguise fear

Think about why do we commit sexual sin? For most of us, it is the fear of never being truly loved, (again). Why don’t we love? Well, there’s that fear of getting hurt. Sometimes, he uses lust of the flesh to disguise fear. For me, fear has so crippled me that I have no friends and I want no friends, because everyone I have ever loved has broken my heart. So, I’ve cocooned myself here, up in my room, and my only friend is my desktop, it can’t hurt me. This impending divorce has me hiding under the bed, like a scared cat, for Pete's sake. Pride is another disguise of fear. Pride keeps us from admitting that we are depraved sinners who can't help ourselves with what we do and do not know. What we do not know or what we cannot control fears us. We feel the need to be in total control of our lives, because we fear our life circumstances outside of our control.

Hate is a great disguise of fear on steroids. Hate is us fearing what or who we do not know or trust. Like Big-Tech censoring us, the people running big tech silence us out of the fear of what we will say. We silence those from who we fear the most. We fear those who will make us feel guilty, so we “ignore” them. We block out of our lives those we know truly do love us. Our pride tells us that person will make us feel less of the person we wish we were. Apologies never happen, because of fear. Most of all, we fear the humbling effect of admitting we may have been wrong. Mistrust, I think that’s an obvious manifestation of fear. I know that I will never trust another man again, or so I say. Why? FEAR of getting my heart broken, again.  Let me assure you that you have not exceeded God's reach of His Amazing Grace of forgiveness.  If God's Grace can cover those two, we have nothing to fear by coming clean with God, allowing Him the room in our hearts to feel His love and Grace.

The next time you do something you know is the wrong, ask yourself, “Is fear the founding factor for doing this?” In most cases, I believe that you will find fear disguised in either shame, pride, or denial. I have been putting off writing this blog post, and GOD asked me why. My answer was, “What’s the use? No one will see it.” Here, fear is disguised as procrastination. I knew GOD wanted me to write this, but my anger with GOD over my fear that He would never deliver me from this sadness kept me from obeying Him. It’s that damned four-letter F-word every time.

While looking up some Scriptures, I went to my favorite on-line Bible, Biblegateway and this is what I saw! Now, how about that for GOD's signs and confirmations! Today's verse of the day!

Prayers without substance is as useless as  Jack-O-Lanterns warding of evil spirits

The Celtic pagan practice of hollowing out a pumpkin, carving a grotesque face and illuminating it  on October 31  was believed to ward off the evil spirits of dead people would come back that night and wreak havoc on those who did them bad during their lifetime.  Obviously, it's based on a faulty theory that dead spirits can actually return to earth, when we know from the parable Jesus told of Lazarus and the rich man in that they most certainly cannot return to earth.

If you know me, I always use metaphors to describe the life of a believer.  I find pumpkin carving a good metaphor for the prayer life of a believer not rooted firmly in the Whole Counsel of GOD.    In its natural state it is attached to the vine which is firmly rooted in the fertile soil and full of what GOD put in it, i.e., seeds and  the leafy veins that feed the pulp of the pumpkin that cause it to grow. When you carve a pumpkin, pull out all the seeds and that slimy stringy substance all you have is an empty shell. You don't really have a thriving vegetable anymore, you just have a mess that will rot away in a very short time.  By the way, if you've ever gutted a pumpkin, all that slimy stuff in the middle can be kind of gross.  Well, the historicity of GOD's people is likewise unpleasant, as well as some of the commands He gave them.  For example, 1 Samuel 15:3.  Look it up. It's not something we can stomach, but it did have purpose.

There seems to be this growing trend of prayer teams popping up with a party line of prayer calls on a weekly basis.  Likewise struggling believers seeking prayer support from strangers has flooded social media.  I really wonder how many of those who respond actually stop and pray for that person.  How do they pray, what do they pray?  How does that person know that those prayers are doctrinally or Scripturally sound? Some cancers and sickness are send by GOD to refine a person.  I know, it happened to me.  Some diseases are GOD's way of taking someone home. We all have to die someday.

Everyone is seeking the mystical more these days without seeking Scripture or the historical context of those Scriptures.  The answers that some responders give are usually some worn out verses  that  carry no weight.  How can Scripture carry no weight?  They can simply by being used in the wrong context with the wrong historical context.  Not all Scriptures are meant for every believer, however, the principle behind the Scripture usually can be.  A perfect example is the one Scripture I hate the most.  How does one hate a Bible verse?  One can hate how it’s over-used and used incorrectly.  Jeremiah 29:11, is that one Scripture that irritates the heck out of me.  Jeremiah gave that Scripture in context to the Jews and the 70 year exile that He had ordained for them to bear for their disobedience in idolatry. What exactly is idolatry?  It is mixing GOD’s formula for worship with man’s own ideas and made-up traditions for worship.  In my one of my previous posts, I used Christmas as a perfect example of that practice of idolatry.  The church loves Christmas, because they have their own man-made traditions regarding its practice, but it was never ordained by the LORD as a spiritual act of worship.  (Romans 12:1.)

In the book of Jeremiah, the prophet was letting GOD’s people know that after their exile, He had a plan to use them, again.  The principle behind that Scripture is true, for the most part, however, it is not for everyone.  Who is it not for? It is not for the person who has turned his back on GOD and walked away to the point of being of no use to Him, anymore.  It is not for the believer who is Christian in name only, doing his own thing, worshiping GOD in his own way, whether it is agreeable to GOD or not, because he feels good about what he’s doing.  Folks, it isn’t about us feeling good about worship or service to GOD.  Usually, the church goer is  not interested in learning anything new.  What his pastor has told him is good enough for him, and seeking out the historical context to Scripture is unimportant to him because he already knows as much as he wants to know about the Lord that he is allegedly worshiping.  Many times, it’s isn’t even YHVH GOD, but an imagined one, one who thinks like he does.

There are some real whacko's out there, self-proclaimed prophets who have decided in their own minds that YHVH has appointed them prophet to the nation.  All you have to do is go to YouTube and in the search box type, "Rapture dream," and every self-proclaimed Joe-apostle/prophet has a video describing some kind of cataclysmic tidal wave or atomic/nuclear war.  It's chicken-little times a million or more. Listening to most of these people, you know that they are not Biblically grounded, but they are mystically assured of their calling.  In other words, they do not realize that what they are saying is not supported by the Bible, as a whole, but the select verses that they choose to support their mystical experience.  Many of them are listening to deceiving spirits that boost them up to prophet status when it was never GOD who called them as prophets, but their own inflated sense of importance in the Kingdom of GOD.

Now, I'm not saying that GOD doesn't speak to us in dreams, we have Biblical examples that He did, but really, people, do you suppose He is really visiting as many "self-proclaimed" prophets as is on YouTube and other social media sites?  The Bible covers a span of approximately 4,000 years give or take a millennium, and how many times did and Angel of the LORD actually appear in the dreams of His servants?  A handful of times, I would say, and look who He appeared to, what they accomplished, and for what purpose?  I mean there must have been at least a couple of million  of GOD’s people on the earth during those years, and he only appeared to a handful over a 4,000 year span. So what's the chance that He is popping in and out of dreams, sending telepathic cryptic messages to every Joe-YouTube-Prophet?

I once calculated how many false self-proclaimed prophets might be out there, based on 450 to 1 in 1 Kings chapters 19 and  22. Now, today, if there are 4 billion Christians, using those statistics,  then less than ten thousand or so would-be bonafide authentic people holding the true office of a prophet, called specifically of GOD.  (See To Be or Not to Be a Prophet )

How does this relate to empty pumpkins?  Let me explain. The pulp, the vein and the seeds could symbolize the Whole Counsel of GOD.  The veins and pulp are the people, events, and theme of sin and redemption that interconnect all people, typology, doctrine, and history, in the Bible, and the seeds are the actual Scriptures.  You have to have a perfect balance of pulp, veins, seeds to outer shell and stem rooted firmly into the vine which is nourished in the fertile soil to have a perfectly balanced pumpkin. Once you cut the pumpkin from the vine, you still have a whole pumpkin, which is a useful fruit, but when you hollow it out, taking out the most important parts, then all you have is empty shell. That is the prayer life of a believer not rooted firmly to the Vine with all its parts intact, working properly to balance out the believers knowledge of GOD.

If we don't know the Word of GOD, backward and forward, then our prayers do not carry the power that they are meant to carry.  Do not get me wrong, I’m not saying that I do not believe in prayer, but what I’m saying is that prayer NOT based on the truth in the WHOLE counsel of GOD does not carry the same power.

Far be it from me to tell anyone something so unScriptural as to stop praying, or that our prayers are not heard by GOD. What I am saying is that if one's prayers aren't bathed in the full knowledge of Scripture, based on solid doctrine in Scripture, with historical context in the content of those prayers, then one might as well be praying to the tooth fairy. Yes, GOD hears our prayers, but is that always GOD answering?  The Spiritual Realm is a very real and very dangerous place if the wrong people enter it through their prayers. (see So You Want to GO Swimming) May I suggest that the devil’s minions assigned to us hear our prayers said out loud?  Do you think it may be possible that they know who is Scripturally inept and who can be deceived?

Satan is so crafty that even those who are well-endowed with the knowledge of Scripture can find it difficult to discern what is from GOD, what is our own concoction, and what is the enemy feeding our egos and flesh with some kind of nonsense that does not agree with Scripture?   A true prophet of GOD is going to know Scripture like the back of his/her hand, because surely GOD would NOT send out any prophet to preach or be a voice for Him if they were not fully bathed in the full comprehensive knowledge of Scripture and the historicity of GOD’s dealings with His people. .

I've heard some nutty "famous prophets" capitalizing on their 15-minutes of fame, spewing off the craziest stuff, claiming that GOD gave them these prophesies to write down.   They even speak in first person proclaiming to be representing GOD Himself, as did the true Prophets in the Bible.  To be truthful, this man's  prophecies, sound more like Dr. Seuss  on religious psychedelic drugs. I can assure you that  GOD will not give anyone any new prophesies that are not already written in the canon of Scripture.  Whenever you hear anyone prophesy saying that they operate in the prophetic, that should raise a red flag, as that concept is a man-made doctrine, not straight from the Word of GOD.  If he says, “The Spirit of the LORD says,” you can be sure he is not quoting exactly from the Word of GOD, it did not come from GOD. Likely, it came from some snake oil salesman who did a seminar on dreams and made a cool million before GOD took him out of this world because of the damage he has done. I won't mention any names, but you can do some research and find him yourself.  Unless what a prophet  says is and exact quote from the Bible, it’s not from GOD in the context that he is using it.

Back in the days before Christ, the Holy Spirit fell upon GOD’s ordained prophets, and they became a prophet to the nation, however, we are living in the last days where the Holy Spirit dwells within each believer, so national prophets proclaiming that they have a message, (outside of Scripture) for the nation are not of GOD.  If there is a national prophet, he/she will speak ONLY the Words straight from Scripture that applies to the spiritual condition of the church. If a stranger comes to you and tell  you he has a message from GOD for you, thank him and let him know that you also have the Holy Spirit, and he doesn’t need an interpreter to give you a message.  He will speak directly to you through your study of Scripture.  In other words, if you aren’t studying Scripture, then more than likely you are not hearing from GOD.  Does GOD give personal revelation? Yes, He does, but for the individual  believer only, one on one, not for the believer to send a message to a nation or an individual.  Sometimes, I will come across a person in whom I sense the Spirit of GOD working, and I let that believer know that I believe GOD is going to use in the future.  I never give details, because I do not claim to know that person’s personal walk with the LORD or the detail of his life.  I just let them know that I have a feeling, and that’s all it is, a feeling, not necessarily fact. I direct them to the Whole Counsel of GOD and I advise them to seek out GOD for their own revelation from Him.

What I am trying to say to you is that the easiest way to tell a hollowed out pumpkin and a fully intact one is the by the weight and mass of the pumpkin when examined.  Careful analysis of what is being said compared to Scripture and the history of GOD's dealings with His people is how one can correctly scrutinize another's "prophetic ponderings."   The only way to be able to weigh the pumpkin and prayers is to know all that there is about what's inside both the pumpkin and the Bible. Therefore, if one is not fully equipped in their knowledge of the historicity of the Whole Counsel of GOD, one can easily be manipulated to believe any deceiving spirit that comes along, and let me tell you, those deceiving spirits are quite cunning and crafty sounding very Scriptural.  Remember, the devil knows way more Scripture than you and I do, and he know just how to use them to trip us up.  He even tried to use them on Jesus to trip him up.

I’ve spent over a decade in the fiery furnace of affliction and my only means of survival hasn’t been prayer only, but prayer combined is careful study of GOD’s people, especially those who have spent some serious time in the furnace of affliction, where GOD refines the dross out of the sinner and his flesh.  I study every aspect of their walk with GOD and how GOD directed them and the fruit that they bore.  I also study their mistakes because our Gracious and wonderful GOD left those in the story to show us that being human means if there is a way to mess something up, we'll find  it.

Someone needs to speak for those who cannot!

I have no husband, to speak of, so I know what it's like to be misunderstood, misinterpreted, misnamed, dishonored and labeled or black-listed.  Rumor has it, I have been black-listed among the pastors of my small town.  How bad can a woman be who is black-listed among alleged men of the cloth?  I cannot tell you why, but I can tell you this, I know the Bible, front and back. Am I an expert? Heck no, but I know more than many.  I say this not to boast, actually, these days, if you are a woman who knows the Bible, you are not liked among men.  I didn't read it to become holy, I read it because I hurt, and hurt a lot. So, a woman who knows what the Bible says is  black-listed, because of sinful human pride, something that comes so naturally, we don't even know it's there.

My first blog that I ever wrote was titled, "The Woman at the Well was no Ho!"  It goes on to explain how it is that we with 21st Century eyes have labeled what could have been a very a holy woman as a "whore."  That poor woman was not an immoral woman, she was set apart. Oddly enough, the actual definition of the word holy means to be set apart.  She was set apart to be the first missionary, and now, because of the misogyny bigotry of men,  she has a bad rap.  She was a holy woman.  She had  rough life.  She was married five times, and the man she is living with is not her husband, said Jesus.  Now, let me ask you, besides being described as  Samaritan woman, where in Scripture does it say that she was shacking up, sleeping around, spreading herself thinly among the men of the town? I will tell you where, NOWHERE

In order to understand the context, one must know the historical context. It was a patriarchal system back in those days, a woman could not live alone. A woman could not work, unless she was a harlot, the oldest profession.  Even those women weren't there voluntarily, no more than the ones of today.  They were forced into it, because either they were abandoned, or had no other way to make an income, because people did not hire women for anything back in those days. Maybe she had no male relative to take her in and care for her.  A woman could become a slave, or servant, if she could find someone to take her in as one.

She had five husbands, that doesn't mean she fooled around on them, that means she had five husbands. Back in the day, if a woman made a bad meal, a man could toss her out, and without a family of her own to take her in, her only option would be to become a concubine, find another husband, or become and indentured servant.  Also, the lifespan of a man was somewhere in the mid 40's or 50's.  She could have been widowed one or more times.

Maybe she was dumped by five husbands, because she was barren. A barren woman in those days were shunned. They were shamed, second only to lepers. This woman could have been one who was taken in as a servant, by a man, thus she was living with a  man who was not her husband.  Maybe she was living with a brother or son-in-law, or a brother-in-law. Here's something else to really consider, no one knows how old this woman was. She could have been 85 years old for all we know. Maybe she was  too old, not of child-bearing years, or she had a reputation of being bad-luck for a man.

A woman who had been widowed several times was considered a holy woman, believe it or not.  It was said of her that GOD had set her apart to be holy, to be His.  I get this, believe me, I get this.  I was set apart.  Set apart for what remains to be seen, but being set apart means being put through the fiery furnace of affliction for many years, even decades.  She was burned all right, and to this day, she is still being burned, as a woman who was immoral when GOD favored her.  My husband left me.  Does that make me an immoral woman? Let's not just assume things about people, because we can't see people through GOD's eyes, we have human eyes, flawed as they are

So why do I think that she may have been set apart, a holy woman, not immoral? Simply by her conversation with Jesus. She knew Scripture.  She knew what to look for in the Messiah. She understood the significance of Jacob's well, and she knew the controversy between where the Samaritans worshiped and where the Jews worshiped.  She quoted Scripture.  Let me ask you, how many prostitutes do you know that can quote Scripture? Not too many.

Last but not least, this woman was believable.  This woman was bold enough to bear witness to Jesus. Respectable men back then didn't follow prostitutes when they bore witness about a holy man or a prophet.  Would you follow a prostitute who came up to you in the town square and said, "Come and follow me, I have found the Messiah!"  I am going to gather that you would not.  Neither would I.  However, if a woman who knew Scripture, who was reputed to be set apart by GOD, said, "Come and see what the Messiah has to say," Would you follow that woman? If you were set apart, you'd go to where that woman pointed you. If you were a proud seminary-taught man, you would black-list her and call her a trouble-maker. This I do know, by experience.

So, please, let's cut this poor woman some slack and stop referring to her an immoral woman. She was GOD's chosen instrument to bear witness to the town of Samaria to the Christ, the first one to do so. That's an honor, not a reason to be black-listed as a "ho!"

 Oh, Not So Holy Night!

I have held this off as long as I could, because I do NOT enjoy bursting the bubble of Christians, but once I learn a truth, I’m obligated to share it.  You are free to disagree with me if you like, or you can take the next 363 days, to pray, research, and search the Scriptures to either prove me right or wrong in your own minds, hearts, and conscience.   I don’t answer to GOD for what anyone else does in their relations and worship of Adonai, I only answer to Him for myself and my actions.  I have to do what I’m led to do, based on the truth YHWH reveals to me through Scripture, revelation (Rhema’s), and what I can discover based solely on historical facts.  Believe me, this was NOT an easy decision for me to make.

We had a very toned down Christmas this year, because to spring this on my children that quickly, so near to the Christmas season, I felt would be unreasonable as a parent. After all, I’m the one who taught them from birth that Christmas was indeed a holy event, because we said it was, but not because Scripture said it was.  We followed the traditions of men, and one man decided in order to coaxed the pagans into this new state religion called Christianity, it was best to adopt their pagan practices, "baptize it into Christ," the pope said, or rather slap a Christian title a pagan celebration to a pagan god and declare them holy.  The people back then were told that these men were vicars for Christ, and infallible when it comes to revelation from GOD, so the people followed their religious leaders, because they did not have access to the Scriptures.  A priest named Jerome translated it into Latin so the average person could never have access to GOD's Word.

This realization of the truth hasn’t been easy for me, either. Heck, I love those traditional Christmas songs from “Last Christmas,” to “Walking in the Winter Wonderland,” (which has NOTHING to do with Christmas, actually) to “Jingle Bells,” (again, Christmas not mentioned), to “Rockin’ around the Christmas Tree,” to “Away in the Manager,” to my absolute favorite of all the hymns, “Oh Holy Night.”  I didn’t sing a single one this year, nor were any of them shaking the paint of the walls of my bedroom while me and the girls belted out our favorites with my speakers jacked up to full volume as we danced around the room, having the time of our lives, doing what we do every Christmas.  It was a difficult decision, and I missed the fun of it.  Sometimes, we have to sacrifice the traditions of men to prove our loyalty to YHVH GOD, like Jesus said in the Bible.

The roots of Christmas are in ancient events like Saturnalia to the German celebrations of Yule, which served the Norse god Odin. Christmas actually comes from pagan celebrations and fertility rites. Once, I learned of just how offensive the whole Yuletide season was to GOD Elohim, I just could not enjoy doing it anymore. The kids really put up a fight about the Christmas tree, and I must say, I caved and let them put one up this year, unbeknownst to them, it’s going out in the trash the next day Rumpke comes to haul away the torn-up gift wrapping paper.  Yes, we did gifts, but there was no Christmas dinner, no holiday music, just gift giving, because they had their gifts picked out before all this truth came in and wiped away fifty-six years-worth of Christmas celebrations and traditions.

Included for your reading enjoyment is the Twelve Christmas Traditions rooted in Pagan Culture  that the Roman Pope decided, “if you can’t beat them join them,” and slapped a “Christian” title onto these pagan-god worship traditions.  Feel free to take this link, do your own research, and come up with your own conclusion. Again, you answer to GOD for your holidays, and I answer to GOD for my festive days I celebrate in honor of Adonai.  For example, we celebrated Hanukkah this year for the first time. It’s a Jewish tradition based on the celebration of the Maccabees defeat of the first anti-christ, type, (or example) in Antiochus IV of Epiphanes.  That was one cruel anti-semite, who paid and placed his own high priests in the Jewish Temple, and who tortured into submission the majority of the Jewish nation that was left after the rebuilding of Jerusalem and the Temple around 3-4 centuries before him.  Even Jesus honored that Festival of Lights in John 10:22, as he went up to the Temple in the winter to acknowledge the deliverance of GOD’s people from a tyrannical murderous demon covered in human skin.  It is not one of the Hebrew feasts that the LORD ordained in Leviticus, as none of those six feasts are observed by the church today.  That’s a whole new topic on the anti-semitism in the gentile church, which they will emphatically deny is practiced, but yet, is so clearly practiced by gentile Christian church, replete of all signs of any Judaic traditions, lest they be called out as Judaizers and heretics, bring up the Torah in the church.  How dare they do that? Another blog post in the future will be titled, “Oh Where Oh Where has the Torah Gone?

If the LORD elected to choose a people to Himself, then only, He should be able to ordained that which is  an acceptable practice to worship Him.  Copy-cat worship is not something He is okay with, because He is GOD and there is no other.  Every time I mentioned this new conviction to someone this year, I got the same argument that I used to give, that we are honoring the birth of Jesus, and yes, you are, but on the wrong day, in the wrong season, and with traditions seeped in idolatry.  GOD’s definition of idolatry in the Old Testament was for His people to adapt the religious practices and false gods of the pagan nations into their worship of the Most High. That was the sin of the high places that the divided nations were guilty of, instead of doing worship exactly how it was prescribed in the Torah.  It was what got them divided as a nation, then the ten tribes of Northern Israel virtually annihilated, and the tribes of Judah and Benjamin sent to Babylon for seventy years of exile, until they learned their lesson.  Let me tell you, when Elohim sends you into a 70-year time out, it’s highly unlikely that you’ll want to repeat the offense, by worshiping Him the way the pagans worshiped their false gods. It is most assuredly offensive to the Most High.

Someone who is truly adept at the New Testament will bring up Romans 14, when Paul declared one man’s unholy day an another man’s acceptable holy day. At least, I would have, and did, until I read the Scripture more closely, and realized that there was an exception in that rule was ( 10 For if someone sees you, the one who has knowledge, dining in an idol’s temple, will his conscience, if he is weak, not be strengthened to eat things sacrificed to idols? 11 For through your knowledge the one who is weak is ruined, the brother or sister for whose sake Christ died. 1 Corinthians  8:10-11)   Likewise, in 1 Corinthians 10, the example Paul used referred to the eating of foods sacrificed to idols which was an abomination to GOD.  The details are different, but the principle of the practice is there.  When Jesus came to earth to fulfil the Law, he did not abolish it, he just took the principle of the Law to a whole new level of understanding.    He taught the depth of the Law, the meaning behind the Law.

Scripture must verify Scripture and one text taken out of text does not nullify or justify and action that may or may not be ordained by GOD.  With YHWH, it’s is always a heart thing, and never a performance thing.  So, celebrating a pagan’s traditional worship to their pagan gods is essentially the same thing eating foods sacrificed to idols.  Paul said that if they knew the food was sacrificed to an idol or a false god was strictly forbidden, then in essence  us knowing that holly and mistletoe and Christmas tree in your home is doing the exact same thing.

Once the LORD pricks my conscience in this manner, like He did this year, then, I just could never see Christmas the same way ever again. It went from a sacred event in my mind to a very unholy night/season, and for the rest of my life, I just cannot perceive it as a joyous event if the LORD says in Scripture that it is an abomination to Him.  What I thought for five decades was worship, now I know was an offense.  We are responsible for what we know at the time and what the LORD teaches us, when we are taught it, not before.  My  more than five decades of celebrating  Christmas was not a sin, because we are only sinning when we know it’s a sin. There are unintentional sins in which we will not be held guilty of, and then there are the outright rebellious sins we know to be wrong, in which we will stand and give an account.

I just can’t do it anymore, knowing what I know, now,  because my conscience before GOD won’t let me.  I would rather offend man, even though it’s NOT what I like to do, than to risk  offending GOD.  If I have to choose between GOD and man, well then man  loses out.   My children will answer to Him themselves as He teaches them in the same progressive revelation He taught me.  As I advise all parents of adult children, they are not your children when they are adults, they are GOD’s, and you have to give them back. They now become just your offspring and any advice or counsel you want to give them must be sought out by them, not offered freely or oppressively, because you are not their mommy anymore. You do not answer to GOD for what they do as adults. You are only obligated to the LORD for teaching them what you do know while they are still under your stewardship. When the LORD teaches us new things, it’s because we have come to him to seek new things to be taught. He never oppresses a man into morality, it is always a choice on our part out of the love in our hearts for Him. For that is your bodily act of worship, and the only kind of sacrifice he wants from us.

ONLY GOD can forgive sins, and ONLY then must we follow suit.

I have been going through the most horrendous spiritual depression, and there is no therapist, no medicine, no cure, accept one, forgiveness. I've had this horrible war raging inside of me. It has turned me into a raving maniac on-line. One minute I'm shouting from the rooftop, swearing to take down Goliath, the next, I'm doubling back, because I just can't take this anger that comes and goes. One day, I think that I've managed it, it's forgotten and forgiven, then I have a flashback, and the burn starts all over, again. I’ve given the offender(s) opportunity after opportunity to receive my grace. So, I imagine you can fathom the battle going on inside of me. Christians, i.e. church people have been taught the wrong thing for generations, and that is the reason for the horrible battle we feel with hurt multiplied by guilt. I'm free now, not any happier, but at least I do not have to do that which I cannot do:

F-O-R-G-I-V-E

When Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven time?" Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times." We have been taught this verse so out of context it's not funny. Let's note where this Scripture is; smack dab in the middle of Jesus instructing his disciples what to do about someone who sins against us. In verse 15, it is clear that if this person does not recognize or acknowledge their sin against us on their own, we are to take it to them. (Note, this is a brother in the LORD, we cannot do this with people outside the church.) If this person repents, apologizes, Yay! Yet, if not, then we should take one or two witnesses with us. Again, if he repents, Yay! Lastly, if this person continues to deny his sin, then boot him! This means, NO FORGIVENESS. This person now becomes the one worthy of the garbage bin. If Jesus doesn't forgive him, then who are we to usurp Jesus's authority.

Next, Jesus give the parable of the unmerciful servant who owes his master big time. He pleads for mercy and receives it. He then in turn goes to his servant and demands payment for the little owed to him. This minor debtor pleads for mercy, but the swindler has no mercy and throws him in prison. When the master finds out about this, the master hits the roof and the stuff hits the fan for the unmerciful servant. If you notice the unforgiving servant did not forgive the pleading debtor who wanted forgiveness. That's not the same as being hurt deliberately and the offender never even considers asking for forgiveness.

Do you see a co-relations here? In all these situations, there is repentance. Just what is repentance? Defined, it's changing one's mind to agree with God, in this instance about our sin. If we don't believe that we sin, and we don't believe that we need any mercy or forgiveness, then we are granted what we don't want, no mercy, no forgiveness. If GOD isn't going to forgive someone, what right do we have to overstep GOD's authority. Note in the story of the prodigal son, the father never went chasing after the wayward son when the wayward son ran out of money. The father waited and watched from afar, until the son came to his senses. Likewise, GOD doesn’t always chase after us if He knows that our hearts are hardened permanently, however, if GOD knows that we have a heart after His, hidden under all that dirt, he relentless chases us with more trials, persecutions, problems than we can handle, until we come to our senses. The implied reprimand of the first-born son is because of his unforgiveness toward his repentant brother.

Think about it, we can't give what we are not asked to give. I know this goes against everything you've learned, however, I do believe that is why the church is in the mess it is in and ineffective in reaching people with the power of the Holy Spirit. Maybe if we stop forgiving those who aren’t forgiven by GOD, then they won’t be free to continue to perpetuate spreading their sinful seed around to unsuspecting, and other stupid women like me.  In 1 Corinthians 5, Paul says boot the sexually immoral brother. Don't hide it, sweep it under the carpet or affirm it. We have no right to boot the non-believer who does not already have the Holy Spirit, but only the believer who claims to be a believer. He is doing far more damage to the body of believers by claiming to be one of them, sitting in a pew every week, unscathed, and continuing in his lifestyle of unrepentant sin.

Scripture always needs to verify Scripture and I wouldn't be me if I don't go back into the Old Testament to find where this principle originated. It takes us back to the book of Joshua. I am sure that you all know the story of Joshua and the Israelites circling the city for seven days then shouting down the walls, (by GOD's Hand, of course). There was one other thing GOD commanded, and that was "don't steal any of the goods for yourself." There was a bad apple in the camp, and only GOD knew about it, but the whole camp suffered.  Joshua was commanded by GOD to seek out the bad apple and expose it.  So, to sum up, one bad apple in the whole bunch surely does spoil the entire barrel. One approved or even non approved sexually immoral person in the church ruins the entire congregation, rending them powerless to fight the enemy we fight today, the dark forces, principalities, authorities, or as I called them, the rip-tides in the Spiritual Realm.  Here's your problem with your mega-churches.  It's so easy to hide up in the corner of the darkened balcony not only oneself, but one's sin. If the head pastor is only preaching sermons about how much GOD loves them to get them to feel better about themselves, how has the helped the whole congregation?  It doesn't change the truth of one bad apple spoiling the whole bunch.

Now, I'm not telling ANYONE to go out and take revenge, that's GOD's job. What I am saying is, cheap grace ain't no grace at all. Cheap grace is permission to do it again, and again, and again. Cheap grace is forgiving the sin that GOD has not yet forgiven. Cheap grace wreaks havoc in the body of the church and the body of the "victim." I can't say that I feel better because I don't have to forgive what GOD hasn't forgiven, because here is the tricky part. I want to forgive like GOD wants to forgive. I have had a sad life, and there are way too many hurts that GOD has allowed to happen to me that intimately portray GOD's hurts we cause Him. I read that GOD feels our pain when we are in pain, I beg to differ. I believe we feel GOD's pain when we sin or are sinned against.

We/Mankind, Screwed It Up TWICE!      There are two things that I learned from my husband that I do believe were and still are spot on.  ...
